A political cartoonist and caricaturist, Emmwood began his career drawing the passengers on a cruise liner where he worked as a steward. During the Second World War, he joined Orde Wingate’s Chindits and served in Burma and China. Emmwood drew TV illustrations for Punch, theatre caricatures for Tatler & Bystander.
